This policy explains how Coda ("Coda", "we", "us") handles information across our website at coda-app.com and the Coda desktop application. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to provide the product.
2. Your sample library stays on your device
Coda is a local-first application. Your audio files, samples, and plugin presets are indexed on your own computer and are never uploaded to us. The AI that powers tagging and search runs locally on your machine. When you use AI search, Coda may send a small amount of non-personal query data to our cloud to improve results, but it never sends your audio, your files, your library contents, or other personal data.
3. Information you provide
If you contact us, we process the details you submit (such as your name, email address, optional studio or artist name, and your message) so we can reply. If you subscribe to updates, we process your email address to send them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails.
4. Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the site secure and reliable. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to operate Coda: a hosting provider for the website, Resend for transactional and newsletter email, and a payment processor for in-app purchases. These providers process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy terms.
6. Retention and your rights
We keep contact messages and subscriber information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. 7. Children
Coda is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
